Edward Nelson, an aged and deeply respected pioneer resident of Centralia, died at his home in this city shortly after noon today after a protracted illness. His death was expected, but the news shocked his many friends by whom he was held in high esteem.

While the funeral arrangements have not yet been settled, it is probable that they will take place from the family residence on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his widow and four sons: Dr. Charles Nelson, Dr. Ostar Nelson, Nels Nelso and Andrew Nelson. He had lived in Centralia 21 years.
