Sorrow came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. M.D. Wood last week in the death of her little daughter Hazel, aged seven years. Their little daughter had been ill for several weeks from diphtheria, but she had of late improved so rapidly that her parents had been very hopeful and her death for that reason seemed to come with cruel suddenness. The father and mother have the sympathy of all. Every father and mother in Centralia will realize their bereavement better than we can tell.

Rev. S. W. Beaven officiated at the funeral, which was quite private. Hymns were sung by ladies who were very near friends of the family and were touching and appropriate to the sad occasion.
