The death of Mrs. H. S. Proffitt, aged 80 years, a pioneer resident of Lewis county, occurred Monday evening, August 28, at the family home at Randle, in eastern Lewis county. The funeral was held Wednesday at 10 o'clock from the residence, Rev. Ray E. Dew, pastor of the Centralia Christian church, officiating; interment was in the Randle cemetery. Mrs. Proffitt had been a resident of Lewis county for the past 32 years. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Leman Proffitt and Mrs. B. B. Todd, both of Centralia; John and Ben Proffitt, of Wenatchee; Mrs. Ellen Stein and Mrs. Will Blankenship, both of Randle, and Mrs. T. E. James of Pomona, Calif.
